1. How do I know that your editors are qualified?
Each of us has received a BA in English from an Ivy League American University. We are college adjuncts, PHD Students, and Master of Fine Arts in Writing graduates. We are published and can provide references, academic and employment contact information, and writing samples on request.
2. What quality of editorial work does WritingHQ produce?
You can see a pageview of one of our edited projects with Tracked Changes and Comments HERE.
3. I'm a fiction/poetry author and I'm worried that your editors may dilute my voice. How can I be sure that your service is what I need?
Well, first off, you should be concerned about a poor match for your work. We do not want to be one of those online editing sites which roughly manhandles your writing. That is why for some writers only light proofreading, commentary, a written or phone critique is appropriate. If you want to see a sample of how we will edit your work, we offer the option of a $5/page sample rate. You can purchase one or more sample pages by clicking below
and filling out the order form, being sure to include a note in the instructions reading "X Sample Pages Pre-Purchased."
4. What types of work does Editing HQ edit?
We specialize in resumes, academic papers, fiction, nonfiction, poetry, screenplays, magazine-style articles and business writing. If we are not qualified to edit your work, we will decline the project.
5. What types of services does Editing HQ offer?
Grammar/Sentence Structure Editing: A grammatical and syntactical correction of your writing to increase clarity.
Minor Revisions: Our minor revisions edit for meaning and affect on the micro and macro levels of a work.
In-Text Comments: This service uses the Comments option in Word to highlight strong and weak sections of organization and focus in your writing.
6. What are your fees?
We offer a flat $9.99 fee for resume editing and critique. For written projects our rates start at $2/page for grammar/sentence structure editing.
7. How does the editing process work?
See our page on the Process.
